Thread: Steering cable to steering tube connection

Last weekend we had a crazy leak coming from the connection of the steering cable to the steering tube. What's the remedy for this, silicone and torque it down? Or, is there some type of gasket I can make up?
Also, does anyone use a boot on the steering cable where it exits the steering tube outside the pump?

There should be a rubber seal inside the steering cable nut. Don't need to tighten it down with brut force, that will actualy cause a leak

No rubber seal. That's part of the problem.

Don't you have somewhere else to be?

Don't you have somewhere else to be? You mean somewhere, like say, deep sea fishing perhaps?
