Great rifles. I fired them many times when I was in the TEAMS. They kick a hell of a lot less than the bolt gun.

Save your $$$ and get the Ferret .50 It's a .50 Cal. upper that fits onto any AR Lower.....also, doesn't need to be registered (at least where I live ) They also sell their custom lowers if you want something totally bulletproof.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of 50cal uppers to fit AR15 lowers. The regular full production Ferrett 50 is a nice weapon...my ex boss has one. He also has the Barrett M82-A1 CQ (shorter barrel).
I have recently read that the M82-A1's magazine well significantly weakens the receiver due to all the material being removed to fit it. Someone who was in the sand box was commenting on how they were replacing them at 250rnds or so as the receivers were breaking. I can't see how Barrett would allow this, but nonetheless, I've read it. YMMV.
I think the Barrett's are cool, but way out of my price range. My dad has the Steyr HS-50 and loves it, and man what a piece of art that thing is. I think I'm going to end up with an Armalite AR50 in the near future, as I want to make sure I get a 50 before the libs/dems ban them, and it's one of the least expensive, very good 50's available - with a big co. backing it up.
The military gets the cool stuff though. Check out the XM-109. This is an upper receiver that replaces the standard XM-107 (mil version of the M82-A1) 50 cal with a 25mm payload round!
