I own a 2004 f-250 superduty with 151000 miles on it and have never taken it back to the dealer.This has been a great truck.I have heard of alot a peaple having lots of problems though!!I have been very lucky I guess.
I have only changed the tires,brakes,2 alternaters,speed sensor,and plugs.
I have changed the oil every 15,000 miles and air filter twice.

Abuse the truck and it runs great,every vehicle I took care of broke down on me.Crazy but very true.
short of changing the ball joints and this new transmission problem where I'm lacking 6th gear my 02 has been pretty reliable. They do go through front ball joints if you tow/haul a lot of heavy stuff.
on my '05. No leaks, no issues. I'm still on the factory brake pads!

the cam position sensor?
ours had oil pressure sensor sending bad #s, finally one day stalled in parking lot andwould not restart, towed and fixed, but love the truck besides that, we tow 30 5th wheel, 21ft boat behind that,

Just got one, has about 1K miles......seems to be quick and powerful sometimes and sluggish others.....first time diesel owner, maybe this is the nature of the beast!?
the recall he is talking about is the one they just posted for the cam position sensor. I don't see how the engine dieing will cause you loose control but they are going to change all the cam position sensors for free so works for me.
As for you new diesel being slugish at times, is it only slugish when cold? If so it has a detuner for when the motor isn't up to temp to keep from breaking things. Another better idea.... yeah right!

No, it seems sluggish at varied intervals.....like I said, maybe it is just me and I have not learned to keep her "up on the pipe"!!!! It feels like a boat, need to throttle up to get her on plane, ease out of it and set your cruise.....much different than the gas cars we have owned.
