was pictures of the event I missed! Thanks. I'm a little jealous though, the third one down shows two Nostalgia boats next to some of the fastest flats in the USA. The Orange and Yellow Laveys can be seen obviously returning from the course with one dirver still at the wheel. This is our Season Champion driving one of Mr. Nordlings L-boats. Mike is the same guy who flipped at Phoenix tearing the side out and repeating that feat in 2006 at our Moses Lake Final. What they learned from those 2 bad experiences was put to good use and SS76 will be even more competitive for 2008. Hardware failure plus an incorrect bottom profile, I am told, contributed to some wild rides for Flipper Mikie. They now sport new horsepower and BIG handling improvements.
Of course most of you know the yellow SS701 Lavey is the returning restored 'Hot R Canary' of Mr Bill Faulkner SR.! It also had a wild ride in Seattle and will return to Burley much faster. Keep our fingers crossed Nostalgia will run there for the first time!
The last shot also shows them running in a heat together with bows high. Got to Love the old school boats not afraid to mix it up with the very fastest and best regardless of their chances of winning. Now if SS39 'Sundowners' new owner has any guts....? I'm working on the owner-driver of former Nostalgia Champion: the 'Sweet Caroline'! That would make FOUR Laveys!
