I know there is probably a prograhm you could buy somewhere but I thik t have figured out how to stop spyware frome reacuring on your computer!
on you explorer menu click tools scoll down to internet options, once in the options window click the privacy tab. @ the bottom of that window it says: to override cookie settings for individual websites, click edit button. this will take you to the edit window you can block individule domains from getting into you cookies thus prventing them from maniplating your explorer. you can search for these sites by typin in a then you can scroll all the sites that start with the letter a. repeating through the rest of the alphabet. h will get most of these sites du to the http:/ header. I was thinkin that we could start a list on here to help each other out with this. what do you think?

Most spyware is delivered via Active X controls, not cookies.
but you can stop them from even opening up on your computer all together, by blocking thier domain in you cookies program you see! if they can't get on your computer, they can't instal or manipulate programs on your computer!! This seems to be working for me so far!
I found a list of spyware, adware and scamware on this site:
    http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/p...cking%20Cookie
it has a list of all these programs and there aliuses. I just browse my cookie edit list and my spyware remover program and also look them up on google for domain info. then I mark them as always block! just to many of them out there to block but I can stop the ones from the common sites (Ebay ***boat ect.) from comming back! I had a porblem were I would loose my browser after 30 minutes. then I would have to scan for viruses remove them and repair my explorer. Thus restarting my computer every 1/2 hour.

Spybot does what you want to do for you. And it's free.

    Ad-aware also works well.
Yahoo also has an anti-spy program. These are all free

The Microsoft new tool is free also. I use all 3.
Sounds like a lot of extra unneeded work, why not just use the free removal tools.

Updating IE's restricted site list is how ie-spyad works as well:
    http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/cou...3332&fileidx=1
I've installed this on the kids computer and it works well. Even if they click on the "free smilies" or whatever, they won't be able to get to the site.
Personally I don't use any anti-spyware scanner or tools on my own computer as I've had problems with registry corruption from adaware in the past and they tend to slow it down. By using common sense on what not to click on you shouldn't have much of a problem (i.e. porn, "free" software, etc) I do check every now and then using msconfig and Hijack-this to make sure nothing is running that shouldn't be.

I've used Firefox, and before that Mozilla, for years. I actually can't remember the last time I had spyware or a virus.
Savor the moment..this could possibly the only thing we are ever going to agree on!
