Does anyone have a similar setup that can recommend what carburetors would be the best for my Weiand (1985) dual tunnel ram intake on this motor that makes 500HP plus?
I have a BBC 454 (100 over) with Isky z-55 solid cam .590 lift, 3500-7500 RPM range. It is in my 18' Bubble jet with a B impeller. I know I want HolleyÂ’s but some say two 660's center squirts other say go with two 750cfm HP carburetors and have them worked. Mech sec is a must. I want single feed fuel inlets unless recommended other wise.
I currently have two 1850's that are older 4150/4160 I have been told. They are 600cfm each with Vac sec. I am concerned that they are limiting my motor a little. ??? The Vac sec are not wanted.
Any kind of recommendations or advice would be great.
a few years back i tried to run the center squirters part # 4224 and never liked them. they had a dead spot i could never fix. since then i`ve ran two 750`s part # 6109 with no complaints. my motor is a BB chevy 468 with a lunati roller 680/700 lift. all 8 jets are no. 74`s. this is in a tx-19 hull and b impeller. turns 5800 at wot.
i dont know anything about carbs.
with a dual carb setup each carb is getting 1/2 the vac it would see on a single setup. so powervalves and vac secondaries need to be adjusted accordingly.
750's dbl pumpers with power valves blocked, idel adjustment on the secondary side, 50cc pumps both sides. Have the tunnel ram matched too the heads. Have large K&N spark aressters with 1" spacers. cross jet 78's & 72's.
