Thread: 429/460 Flywheel?????

  1. #1
I am setting up a internally ballanced 429 with a BW bell housing and drive plate. It will be turning a Volvo Penta 280PT using the attached adaptor that connects like a Velvet drive transmission. With both the top mount starter and the side mount starters... mounted I measure the flywheel diameter to be around 14" - 14 1/8"??? That is measuring from the center of the shaft to what looks like a good gear meshing depth on both starter drives. Am I measuring that right? Is there a manual type 429/460 flywheel in that diameter that I can put a BW drive plate on for tthis setup?
    Thanks, Tt
