    Can anyone recommend a cheap handheld GPS? I dont need any bells and whistles, just wanna check my speed...

    That's what I have and I like it. They even have a holding bracket you can mount on the dash.

    Thanks!! I will look into that one. What would be a good price for one?
    Also, has anybody checked their speedos for accuracy? I have a new Hardin speedo but havent mounted the pitot yet...my old speedo was not very accurate past 55 vs a GPS

    I have a 18 ft Rogers with a 468 bbc also. I checked my speed last week with a gps and it was showing 67.7 with a light chop and about 450 lbs in the boat. I think 75 would have been attainable had things been a little different.

    Just picked up a Navman GPS, so I should be able to check things out next time I'm on the water, hopefully this weekend

    What RPM was that at??The rpm on my boat was around 5500 but, I have tach issues right now so I don't know how accurate the rpm's were.
