i am building a sbc 400 for my 20.6 advantage alpha one drive. my question is about the flywheel. should i purchase a aluminum or steel flywheel. what am i going to loose or gain? i am also looking for used performance exhaust manifolds or headers.
With a alpha, I doubt you are building a drag boat. Stick with the steel one. Gives a better idle and few things I forgot. At top rpm they all spin the same.
I would stick with the steel, the alumminum will spin up faster and you'll get a better throttle response but all that doesn't really matter as long as that alpha is hangin off the back of that boat.
