I did the first oil change on my new motor, i have a hose from the oil pan, check valve, and a hose going out the back of the boat for easy draining. The oil was coming out so slow i grabbed the shop vac, put it on blow, took off one of the breathers from the valve covers , stuck the hose over the hole, i blew all the oil out in less than 30n sec. funny as hell, but it worked great. i was going to get a pump to suck the oil out, but this worked so well, i'll do this every time.

What did you do with all the dirt you blew into the engine?

I was thinking the same thing. Can you imagine how much dirt was in the exhaust from the vacuum cleaner. How would you ever clean the motor out ??

If you are worried about dirt use an air hose!! Works great.

I've been using the air hose with the regulator choked down to 10 psi for 4 years. Works great.

I put a old t-shirt over the hose, and the shop vac was brand new.
