Once again.. I'm not a Jet "guru" in anyway but it's my understanding that..
The Ride plate adds some surface to that transom of the boat. What that enables you to do is "trim" the boat up further getting more of the hull out of the water (becuase it's now transfering some of it's weight onto the ride plate) and adding speed. I've also been "told" but I don't know how true that it is that it helps the ride of the boat in rough water becuase it adds length. Someone once said that it helps to smooth the water out before the jet, but I'm not really sure how what difference that would possibly make in performance.
The "rooster booster" I believe is similar to a diverter except it allows it to shoot the rooster at a much steeper angle. Typically all of these "diverters" are aimed at two points of gain. One you can trim the boat down which buries the nose for a smoother ride in the chop, and the second you can trim it further up making the contact patch on the bottom of the boat smaller and increasing speed. However as displayed quite frequently you can go past the "leverage point" with a diverter and actually begin to loose speed, but the side effect is the "roostertail" which alot of people like. Thus the reason prop guys refer to it as "A huge display of inefficiency." http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif
You might want to check with an actual jet guy to make sure the rooster booster is the same as a "diverter".. It's been my experience that the "goal" of all those things is the same. Jetovator, Place Diverter, Rooster Booster (and I think there's a couple of other ones..) However some work better then others for performance. If you'd like to know which one works best simply ask ChetCapoli and HBJet..
Chet will tell you the aggressor is cheaper and superior..
HBJet will tell you the place diverter is the only way to go and superior.
