Well, I have got the newly re-vamped 434 ci SBC back. All we changed was the hydraulic cam to a solid roller, heavier valve springs and stronger valves. Also had to upgrade the carb to a 850 cfm. We tested last week and the results are quite good. We got 565 HP at 5600 RPM, 528 ft/lbs torque. The torque don't drop below 500 from 3975 RPM to 5900 RPM. This is still a 10:1 engine that can run on premium pump gas. The new boat is getting painted this week and the engine should be going in next week if all goes well. Still hoping for the 100 MPH mark. Will keep you all posted.

Congratulations! eek! All that power and less weight makes for a good combo. It will be good to here what speed you achieve. Have you sold your other race boat yet? Or was it the big boat you were selling?
You need to get everything in good shape for your trip to Havasu (Are you going?).

Gents, Sorry it took so long to get back to you all, but I have been away from a computer. The engine started with a Dart little M block, Dart Pro-1 Comp heads, Edelbrock 2925 intake. The cam is a Comp cam 260-266-08+4 (from dyno sheet). We are running a AED Holly 850 carb (76 & 84 jets). I'm really getting excited about running this thing in the new boat. It should done paint this weekend and then it's back to Eagle to get the engine installed. I should back from work by then and start rigging it. Still hoping to be in Havasu this spring.
