LOS ANGELES -- Clippers forward Corey Maggette will be out at least four more weeks because of an injured left foot.
The 26-year-old Maggette, the Clippers' second-leading scorer, hasn't played since a 99-89 victory over the Miami Heat on Dec. 5. He scored 13 points in that game before landing on another player's foot at the end of the third quarter.
It was thought Maggette had a sprained left foot, and he was listed as day-do-day. But he returned to Los Angeles on Thursday, a day after the Clippers lost at Indiana 97-75, and a CT scan revealed a small separation of the ligament between the bones in the foot, team physician Dr. Tony Daly said.
Maggette is averaging 21.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 34.1 minutes in 13 games this season -- his sixth with the Clippers and seventh in the NBA. He averaged 20.7 points in the 2003-04 season and a career-high 22.2 points in 66 games last season.
The Clippers entered Friday night's game at Charlotte having lost five of six games to fall out of first place in the Pacific Division.
