Have you checked your impeller since it stopped performing as it used to?
SO WHAT CAUSES CAVITATION AND WHAT EXACTLY IS IT.IT SEEMS LIKE MY BOAT IS NOT COMING OUT OF THE HOLE AS WELL AS IT USED TO ---FEELS KIND OF LIKE A SLIPPING CLUTCH ,THE BOAT IS MAKING MORE POWER NOW COULD THAT BE IT OR WHAT ANY INFO OR CURES PLEASE LET ME KNOW ..
Have you checked your impeller since it stopped performing as it used to?
NO -WHY WHAT SHOULD I BE LOOKING FOR....
Someone correct me if i am somewhat misled, but here is my explanation:
Over time, from ingesting crap in the pump (especially rocks), the impeller blades lose their sharp edges, and they become dull or even bent over. This causes the impeller to slide through the water as opposed to cut through it, which can aerate the water inside the pump, causing cavitation.
Along those same lines, the wear ring can become worn, which doesnt keep the impeller sealed to the housing, causing an effect similar to blowby on a piston. Am i close here guys?
