My name is Dave Jones; I am with Aggressor Jets.
When entering into Jet Drive, some ten years ago
I got to meet and talk in detail, about Jets and its History, with some of the very best in this industry.I found each and every one to be very special and very talented "way beyond the field of Jet Boats".
Most of these names are still here while some very special ones have passed on.
In this time period I was very fortunate to meet and get to know Ross(PAPPY)Wilder. I met Ross over A design. It became a Friendship in a mans last years. I seen a man who could not work much over 5-15 Min. due to cancer, take a project on to add assemblance back into his life.
The Project was to build a mini scale working model of the the Ford Motor that Pappy ran in his boat "Wilder Days". Pappy streatched that time of 5 minutes, to 1hour to 3hours to completion of that working motor(About 5"x5" in size).
That same motor & his love put him back @ NJBA Drags with Rick & Tom for 2 additional years, and to the awards banquet for Hi Points Champion.
Pappys shop had a Restored Berkeley Jet which steered from a track mounted to the rear of the transom. It is early vintage without a doubt.
When looking at all the Jet History, Ross had collected it made me aware that I one day wanted to start & display a History Room on Jet Boats, Drivers, Builders, Pumps & even some of the strange stuff tried out so others could come & see it.
I started to collect Pumps to re-furbish and some of our Dealers have sent me other items also for
Display. With all going on & a fire you tend to drop the Ball. I resently got involved in a Take Me Back string and It started to remind me of my desire to pay Tribute to the People, Racers, Builders, Boat Manufactures, Pump Manufactures & the Industry overall.
I will Re-start this with more energy to accumulate Brochures, Catalogs, Articles, Pumps
and provide some form of open display that can be enjoyed by all. It will be Isolated from our product as so it is not a "SPAM ROOM"

Not to get off on a tangent, but some of the boat retailers were very interesting and colorfull folks too. Jerry Skagen of Skagen boats still sells jet parts and accessories, If you own a jetboat in Wa., Jerry probably sold it new. He told me he used to drive trucks down to Ca. to haul boats back to Wa. to be sold out of his shop. The jetboat craze wouldn't have been nationwide if not for guys like Jerry.
