I would like to do the same thing. I have looked at a few kits but nothing I really liked,
I've been thinking about building a scale model of my Spectra 18 for an R/C boat has anyone tried this ? If so how did you scale it ? I have some line drawings but they are very basic and dont show the hull profile . RH

If you're going to build a model boat, these may interest you:

The models above are going to be slow,,,10-25MPH..check out testing videos at www.stonerracing.com on a mono hull (V-HULL) thats a 65-68MPH 45" long boat. The hydro was clocked at 85MPH. with an engine less than 1 cubic inch. You ought to see 6 of these R/C Boats running all together at 65+ at about 1' foot apart! There are more pictures at www.namba7.com
my buddy Todd the Gelcoat Dude built his own from scratch. It came out rad. I think he's going to build a few more. He'd be able to hook you up with a scaled down version of your boat.
I know this is the jet section but this 1/4 scale v drive is on e bay right now.
