got a question for all U pump pro's. I have a berk JC and I need to know what the shaft dia should be ( where the impeller goes & where the bowl bushing rides) also how much clearence should I have between the shaft & the impeller. And what should the clearence be for the bowl bushing to pump shaft.

I'm sure the gurus will chime in , but until then,
I think the shaft should be:
    1.2499 dia
even if I am off on the dia, there shouldn't be much CLEARANCE. It should be a slipity-slip-slip fit onto the shaft.
As far as the bushing, there should be some clearance, maybe .005, but not that much as this sets how much clearance the impeller and wear ring have.

The ends of the shaft are hard chromed and should never wear. IMO .005 is a little loose for a bushing fit. Any wobble in the bushing COULD cause premature impeller/wear ring excessive wear........Jim, jump in here and give this guy the straight poop............Ray

Just measured a spare used shaft I have.
Diameter in the impeller area was 1.248"
Diameter in the bushing area was 1.122"
Inside diameter of a new bushing was 1.125"

I was just throwing some numbers out there, like I said, just a guess, I made my shaft three years ago.
I figured the gurus would chime in.
.005 seemed big, that is why I said max.
