does any one have that place diverter droopsnoot. I would like to find out if it has that center dividerlike mine. I want to cut this thing out, or buy one with out. it sure looks restrictive when looking at my lopsided roostertail.

I just put the Place Diverter droop on my 2001 Ultra Stealth & man do I have a rooster tail. It's badass. No dividers in it.
It does cause some porpoising, but the kids & friends love it. Can really get some air now.

What kind of Droop do you have now? I had a American Turbine with a vertical center divider. My rooster was split in two also. I hacksawed it out, and I then had a rooster tail that was still split, not as bad, but my Jet stream was a Twirling mess without it. Do you have a Berkeley "B" bowl?

I believe the Berk has a divider that is horizontal, and American Turbine, Place, and I think Legend are Vertical. Dominator's droop has no divider, and that is the most desired droop in my book. I was talking to the owner of Berkeley Jet Drives at the boat show, and he said people want the Berk droop because of the horizontal divider.....Yeah, Whatever?
My advice to anyone who has a divider, cut it out!

Can anybody post a picture of what this "divider" looks like for those of us who are curious and would like to learn? Thanks.

The logic for the divider in the droop is as follows. As water is moved from the intake through the impeller, it is spun clockwise as your looking at the front of the pump. The vanes in the bowl work to straighten the flow of water before it leaves the pump. Straighter flow = less wasted energy. So if you have vanes in the bowl, then open up again to a long droop with no divider the thrust begins to swirl again. Energy is lost as the thrust that moves your forward is thrust that moves front to back not radialy away from the centerline of the boat. The dividers were put into the droops to help keep the discharge stream straight as it exits the pump. I'll try and get some pics of the inside of my berk droops up today for HH.

Droop- The best way for a divider is horizontal- the problem is each exhaust will vary. so the divider will vary also. As a mfg item this is not possable. 2nd best is a vertical. This keeps the swirl action down (dead spots).
If you look at our bowls we are 1 1/2" longer then anyone else. The reason is water control. Our Bowl strightens out the water for 1 1/4" prior to release into the Droop or Nozzle Housing.
You now have a directed flow pattern going vs a roll and tumble comming off a short released bowl.
The divider in the Droop is a continuation of this water control.A divider in the Droop helps maintain directional control cutting down on swirl.
Taking It out will have nothing to do with
increased Pressure or Volumn. A Choke can increase Distance!. Hope this helps. dave

Thanks for the post Dave. Here are some pictures for Havasu Dreamin of a couple of droops with the dividers in them.

Both are horizontal and unfortunately I don't have corresponding rooster tail photos... yet http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif hopefully I'll have the mill back in and the hardware ready to go by Sunday or early next week in which case I can do a little testing between the longer and shorter droops on the 20'er. BTW, the color is Anodize red from my new friends at the Eastwood company http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif . Custom Cruiser was right, having a PC setup definitely gets things heading out of hand quick. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
