I had not heard of this new pro charger for the 496 mag. I just saw it in the new Powerboat magazine and went to www.procharger.com to confirm the availability of the unit for the 496. I originally wanted to get the 496 HO. in hope to pro charge it but did not want to fork over the extra $4-$5k to do so at this time, but now with this pro charger that is available with the mag. I am able to do so after the manfuacturers warranty is up in a year. Can anyone give any feedback in regards to the pro charger for the 496 mag.? Any pro's or con's? I assume this is a new product for the 496 mag. since I had only heard that I would only be able to supercharge the 496 HO only. Thanks for any feedback.

just out of curiosity why would you order a boat brand new with the 496 and immediately spent 7-10 grand on a blower kit? why didnt you just use that money to buy a upgraded motor, like possibly a custom teaque package etc... most people that buy these kits seem to wait until after the warranty is expired, and/or they have had time to save up some extra cash.
I really wanted to do an upgrade but at the time of purchase I wasn't really willing to fork over the money for the engine upgrade. But in a year or little after once the warranty is up and when I feel the need for a upgrade to more power I was left with really no option with the 496 mag. for a major boost in power until I saw the advertisment for the supercharger. That was my thinking.
oh, i see. you arent planning on the blower for about a year... just gettin info now? good idea i like to do that too, makes me want, makes the old lady very very mad burningm
