A friend of mine is interested in launching his PWCs from the beach at Telephone Pole Cove on the Nevada side of Lake Mohave.
He's never been there before, how would he go about getting there???
    Thanks!!!

RTJas Usually I could help you out with Lake Mohave but I have never used that launch. Sorry

I assume you're talking about the cove that you can drive out to that's across the lake from Katherine's Landing? If so, you're in luck beacuse we just went thru this. I went online and bought a BLM map for $7 but all my friends found it w/o a problem...or a map.
When you come out of Laughlin, go WEST on the 163 for about 3.5 miles. It's not very well marked but you'll see a dirt road off to the right. Get on that and inititally go right. You'll see signs about a cove and you'll be directed to go LEFT. Just follow it back at that point. It's about 4 miles back to the cove. The cool part is that if you get on the right road, it leads you directly to that cove.
If you go up the 163 and get to the VERY WELL MARKED signs about Christmas Tree Cove/Trail... you've gone too far.

Thanks RacerX! Those are the directions I was looking for!!!
I first heard about it from a guy in the parking lot at the Riverside. He suggested I launch my 18' Hawaiian from there. But I was never interested in putting my boat in off of a beach. According to the guy I talked to, it's not a problem for small boats there though. I checked it out from the water one time, just to get an idea and it was pretty shallow for a long way out. Bottom seemed very firm though. I think mostly though the PWC crowd uses it.

Isn't Telephone cove on the AZ side of Mohave, not the Nevada side as RacerX describes? I know that there are two coves you can launch from, one on each side both of which are North of Katherines Landing. When we frequented Mohave with the seadoos we launched at what I thought was Telephone Cove. You got there by driving into Katherines and then making a right turn before the launch ramp and ended up driving down a pretty beat up paved road for a few miles and then made a left down a dirt road for about a mile to the water.

Where you say "if you take the right road", does that mean at the point it says to go left you actually go right? Or just follow the sign and road to the cove?
    Thanks!
