Thread: WINTERIZE MY BOAT

    I need some help,,,I am currently storing the boat where it freezes (central Ca.) and
    I wanna know the best way to winterize my boat...i dont wannna have a cracked blocked come next summer....

    Tow it someplace warmer??????? Winterize...in San Diego that means I have to put the cover on it.

    Is it a 454? Most important thing to prevent a cracked block is to pull the plugs off the bottom of the block (9/16 wrench)and drain it...1 on each side...if no water comes out stick your finger in the hole, usually have a bunch of sand and mud in there (if it's a jet)...When I did mine this year there was about 1 gallon of water per side....I also pull the hoses off the exhaust manifolds and drain them..
    Some people top off their fuel tanks but I live where it freezes and don't worry about it..
    Disconnect the battery and put a cover on the boat..
    Then drink a beer and dream about summer!
