Things will only get worse if the Republican candidates cannot get together on this.
Arnold and McClintock will split the Republicans and Cruz will cruise into the governor's seat. Along with his 8 billion dollar tax increases...
The Latino interest groups are organizing to support Cruz, and Arnie voted for Prop 187 so he will not be getting much support from those interest groups.
Firemen and Unions already on the Bustamante bandwagon........
Republicans better get behind one candidate or it will back the spend and tax, tax and spend ways of the past 5 years.....
Multi-billion dollar surplus went pig_flyi flying out the window...

Bustamante will drive this state to the ground with his tax proposal. The republicans in this state need to back one candidate or we are doomed. It's scary to think that this guy might get elected and make it Norte California. I tell you busineses will continue to leave this state and eventually so will anyone making over 92K a year. The "undocumented people" will be the only one's left.

this guy is such a buffoon that with Gray Davis in tow he makes the cast from Dumb and Dumber almost look like Einstien..

Multi-billion dollar surplus went pig_flyi flying out the window... I'm not sure we're ever going to have the election. Here's a very possible scenario:
The recall is moving ahead and it is obvious by the polls that Davis will lose and that Cruz will also lose to, say, Arnold. At the last minute, Davis resigns his seat, giving it Cruz. Now, Cruz can choose is successor as the Lt. Gov, and he picks someone, say, like Garamendi or another loyal dem. Thus, no need for an election. I can see this happening, but only if the polls show the recall is a done deal and that Cruz has dropped way down in the polls. Food for thought...

CA Stu You stole that from an anti-bush sticker. I like it much better applied to Bustamante though

[/qb]No, if the recall passes, the candidate with the most votes becomes governor. If Cruz assumes governorship before the election he would likely be left with nothing. The constitution is not clear if he would go back to being Lt Gov or just be out. Davis could **** him up by doing that though.

You'd think that ever since the recall has been approved by the voters, Davis' actions could be questioned for legitimacy. I mean, the guy's a lame duck, are his legislative acts enforceable? Or are they open to being repealed by his successor. That seems fair to me.
I mean, the guy knows he's a lame duck, I understand he's been appointing liberal judges like there's no tomorrow (because ther is no political tomorrow for him)?
CA Stu <-- Likes CA , dislikes the top heavy liberal pinko semi-socialist government .
