Here's some more pics. It was a long hike to Rainbow Bridge because of the low water level, you can see the people hiking on the trail...

We boated into a cave the size of a 2 story house on the Rock Creek arm, normally it would have been underwater. If you look close you can see my friends swimming in the cave.

Hey Mark how long were you at Powell for. We wanted to go this year but the water level made us skeptical. Cale, we were worried about the water level too. Turned out to be not a big deal. The lake is so damn huge theres plenty of water and coves to go around. It just give you more beaches to choose from. No problems boating, never hit any props or anything. We went into one steep walled cove for lunch on the way back from Rainbow and I dropped anchor and didn't have enough rope if was so deep. The main problem is the ramps for your boat. Wahweap's ran out of pavement the last 20 feet, (my tires started spinning a hole in the mud.) Antelope's ramp (a nice ramp if you are staying in Page) was closed.
Also, you can't go across Castle Rock to the main part of the lake (it's all land now), you have to go around Antelope Island channel, which will add another hour or so if you are putting along in a houseboat. Lets pray for snow on the WEST side of the Rockies this winter. , Mark
Here's a pic of people at the Wahweap ramp..
Here's some weird caves high above the Navajo Creek arm..

Sweet pics. The water level is fine if you have never been there before. Im just still not used to it being so low after many years of almost full pool. Ripped the bravo off the boat last Oct on an underwater rock. Still a little gunshy because of it.
A little different scene at the launch ramp from Havasu, but kinda funny. I guess you have to be centered in what is normaly 2 lanes to properly launch a Bayliner. Squeeze in with well over 2 feet to spare and these people just freak. They think Im the asshole for being to close, but from the top of the ramp, 4 people clogging up a 12 lane wide while others wait in line looks preaty stupid. Yeah, you just stay in line while I go around you and launch my boat in one lane. Dont worry that 50 foot opening will come around about the time it gets dark.
Guess this turned into a little bitch session, sorry.

Now that I thnk about it. It prob is just a little different with the lower water level, like a new lake to look at. I mean because the scenery and things would change. Like the twostory cave, you wouldn't see that at normal levels.

Like the twostory cave, you wouldn't see that at normal levels. Yup, the whole place did look different. One thing I forgot about was the maps in the GPS were now outdated. We were coming back to our camp (Gunsight Canyon) and the GPS was pointing the way directly, but we started approaching a huge low lying land mass/pennisula that was in the way. On the GPS map it looked like wide open lake. We had to make a U turn and go around it for several miles.
Oh yea, we were there 4 days 3 nights. It was too short, recommend at least 5 days. First and last day is mostly loading/unloading, launching, orientation and the slow ride to/from the cove.
We spent another day doing hikes at Zion Nat'l Park since we were in the area, some awsome scenery there too.

Did you see any speedboats out there?
It looks like just big boats only.

The picture with the 3 hotel buildings in, we parked our boat literally 100 feet from the hotel room a couple years ago. Pulled almost right up to Rainbow Bridge too.
Low water's not a problem except for the ramps running out of concrete. Same problem all over the Southwest (Lake Navajo for one).
Great pictures.
