Thread: Steering cable question

I'm installing two steering cables in my hull and I need to drill holes in the stern for the cables to exit and attach to my egg beater. I've got some Rex Marine clam type covers on order to dress the cables up where they exit the hull but they aren't here yet. Does anyone know what size hole I need to drill for the cover to fit properly?
    Thanks,
    Tom

No. Give me a minute to find them in your catalog.

Arg! I can't find them. I hope I didn't order the wrong thing, although I could also use a set of those covers you linked to.
Us outboard guys are way in the back of the catalog. We're third class customers. It's just like being in the forums.

I need something like this boat has for where my steering cables exit the hull. I want these small, stamped clams. Barney is the one who recommended them to me but he isn't around at the moment and I want to run the cables tomorrow morning. I'm sure he gets these from Rex Marine but I couldn't find them in the online catalog and, of course, the printed catalog is just a myth.

I don't have those Tom. Can probably dig you some up though if you want but we don't make that little clam in the pic. frown

Do you have something that would do that job? My job is exactly that. My cable will come out at a heavy angle, just like that one in the pic.
