909 loser on 15 South Freeway today at 4:00PM

OK the story goes,
909er from Riverside gets in High speed chase going south on the 15 Freeway.
They throw out the spikes in Temecula and the Focker keeps going with the flat tires until he stops about 4 miles later just past Deer Springs Road.
The CHP shuts down both directions of the Freeway and calls the SWAT team out to talk with the suicidal driver.
He ends up Dead at about 8:30 Pm or so and they reopen the Fwy.
Long story short, from downtown San Diego to Fallbrook took about 4 hrs.
Good thing Mrs. HDDD called and let me know the sitch. wink
Went North on the 5 Freeway to the 76 Oceanside cut through the back roads to Old 395 to the Crib. eek!

I left Rancho Bernardo at 5:30 and took back roads to Escondido. Traffic started gridlocking so I decided to stop at Applebee's for a cold one to kill some time. I left at Applebee's at 7:00 and figured that it was safe by then to take Twin Oaks to Deer Springs...bad idea. I didn't get to the I15 until it was all over at around 8:30.
Northbound was crawling all the way to the 909
Southbound was backed up to Fallbrook.
I made me think that I was working back in L.A.
