Where did you steal it fro...er...what kind of head unit is it?
I'm installing a deck that I pulled out of a car before I sold it a couple of years ago and now I can not remember which speaker wire is what on the back of the unit.
I've got....
green
gray
white
purple
And, is the striped wire in a pair the Pos or the ground.
Thanks

White- rear left
Gray- front right
Purple- rear right
HH, It is a clarion head unit, that was BOUGHT new in 99.
Glastronguy, that is a very informative site you posted, but I could not find diagrams for aftermarket radios like mine.
HH is right all the colors on aftermarket radios are the same.

HH is right all the colors on aftermarket radios are the same. Not completely true. Up until I believe it was 1999 Some manufacturers used different wire colors. Pioneer was one of them. Before then most everyone was using the same but a few manufacturers didn't switch until 1999.
It may have been 98 but I think it was 99 when everyone went to the same wiring. Best thing you can do is wire up to the standard wiring that HH said and see if that works. If it doesnt then play with balance and fade and figure it out the hard way.
