Did you foget about the 13.6-liter/1000-horsepower V-16 Caddy sedan?
If GM puts it into production it's just a matter of time before it will become a Mercury Marine engine!

It's a concept car at the moment. Caddy was rumored to be bringing out a monster of a CTS, but had to detune the vehicle because all the specs for it out did the 2005 Corvette.

If they build that caddy it's going to be bad ass - the computer controls the engine when cruising and drops out cylinders for better gas mileage on the open road - plus it looks bad to the bone - going to be seriously spendy though.

    First Look: 2004 Cadillac CTS-V
A new standard for performance and value?
    By Todd Lassa
    Motor Trend, June 2003
Cadillac hopes its CTS-V will be to the BMW M5 what the Z06 is to the 911: a worthy competitor for much less money and a critical success, even in Europe. It takes on BMW with good old-fashioned, rumbling pushrod V-8 power--400 horses from a 5.7-liter aluminum-block Vette-sourced LS6.
Upgrades include a standard six-speed manual (no automatic), P245/45WR18 run-flat tires around six-lug aluminum wheels, and four-piston Brembo brakes with vented 14-inch rotors in front and 14.4-inch rotors and four-piston calipers in the rear. The stability system has four driver-select modes in the V, including a track performance setting (Z06 again). It has thicker front/rear anti-roll bars, and spring rates are up 27 percent.
Exterior enhancements are subtle, like the Z06 and M5, with a new front fascia featuring integrated aero splitter and brake ducts, a stainless-steel mesh grille, "aero" rocker panels, CTS-V badges on the decklid and front fenders, and a GM Performance Division badge underhood. Colors are silver or black, with ebony or light neutral interior trimmed in light gray stitching. The interior has too many upgrades to list here. Suffice it to say Caddy is addressing concerns about CTS drivers' bland environment. So it looks like Cadillac has all the ingredients for a car that might be seriously considered a competitor for the vaunted M5--well, at least until the new 500-horsepower/V-10 BMW launches next year.

Not to rain on your parade BigProppa but Caddy already tried that and failed miserably. The motor was called the 4,6,8. Maybe with electronics nowdays it would work better but I still don`t see how it would offer better fuel economy.
    All in all,,,,,bad idea!
