Can anyone point me in a good direction for advertising? I opened my business "Marine Works" in Phoenix, AZ in January. I have had a hard time figuring out where to advertise. I am basically trying to stick with service and repair. I am mobile by the way. I was waiting on a list of boats registered in AZ from the fish and game dept., but they are going through a privacy policy change. I looked into the phone book, but they want 150 a month for the smallest add. I can't afford that without some business first. If I did try to do that, I would have to adjust my rates, and I want to stay as reasonable as possible. I thought about newspaper ads, but I personally don't look in the paper that much, and I was afraid I would just be throwing money away. I would appreciate any advice everyone has. I opened my business because I couldn't believe the treatment some of the shops here gave me. My motto is I won't rip you off. Cole Sanger see your PM's please
Hit marinas and launch ramps at nearby lakes. Hit up marine supply stores. Post flyers and maybe ads in those at those facilities.
Keep some cards and flyers with you and stick them on every trailer/boat you see.
Contact local newspaper reporter about doing an article on you. Small papers too.
Check out a book called Guerilla Marketing. It has lots of ideas like that.
Email and Internet both are free or cheap. As much as I hate spam, if something good shows up I keep it.
Good Luck
Yea, hang out at the launch ramps like the handyman/jack of all trades hangs out at Home Depot
LOL...Picture is a joke.... I myself dont mind member related spam at all. In my own personal business dealings I always give the little guy a shot ...More times than not I was completely satisfied with them and glad I tried their product or services out ....Best of luck with your business!

You should probably change it to something positive though. Just a little advice. Good luck in your business venture.
I work, so you can play.

Thanks for the info. I am going to change these threads to Whoops and leave one on the Hot Boats forum. I really didn't intend them to be SPAM. Thanks again.
