What brand bimini straps and clips might work better?
I bent the clip that attaches at the boat again.I know,I know you shouldn't go 45-55 mph with it up,but ....Thanks

I have regular nylon webbing and the hook clips with the spring clip and I run 45 - 55 (all I can run) and have not had a problem. Yet?!?!

I don't run straps. Mine is held in place with four stainless legs. Have been as high as 85 with no problems.

I have straps on mine and seems to hold up ok if you angle the front down a couple of inches to avoid the parachute effect.

Try Overtons or West Marine for the poles. I remember seeing them in a catalog recently. They also have straps and hooks.
