Vic I have used them and they are much more dificult to work with but I feel they are way stronger and suportive.
has anyone used the one piece comp cams stud girdles before? do you prefer the three piece instead?

they sure dont look too difficult to make...hummmm?
I've had good luck with it. Tricky to get lined up to start, but once you get working with it, real easy. And simple. that works for me.

thanks jerry. im thinking im going to go with the comp cams
I have heard from more than a few real good Blower motor shops that if your running a Roller cam under .700 lift and only spinning the engine 6000-6300 rpm max you dont need one, put the money elsewhere.
I use Webster's they are great, lash don't change when you tighten them up!..
I ran a BBC with cast iron heads, a small flat tappet solid, and 6200rpm. Most will tell you I didn't need a girdle, but I disagree. "Need" is a relative word, but I say for the few extra bucks, there's not enough you can do to stabilize valve train harmonics, and I won't run without one. The Comp Cams one piece is a bit of a pain to use, but works well. The three bar style is much easier to use, and in everything but the most severe applications, work just as well. Factor in their ease of use, and IMO, they're a better deal.
Lets see a pic of the one piece girdle.
I also use the webster. Very nice peice. Like Art said when tightened the lash does not change.
Saves a bunch of time.
