Im new to boating. and to this site. I just bought a 86 sea sprite mark 1 17' b/r 120 I/O. the problem is in the steering. when taking off it is fine. start to plane and it gets sloppy and likes to ride like it has all the people on one side. trim it out and it is better but not great. any ideas!!!!

If your boat does not have power steeting it sounds like your tab is missing off the outdrive which helps with prop torque.

I have no idea what you are talking about. the only tab I can can think of is the triangle above and behind the prop. sorry for not knowing!!!!!! but your help is thanked. no there is not power steering. is there an adjustment that I can make? it does have a whale tail. Do they really help with plaining?
