Thread: Want a clean interior?

My interior was new a couple of years ago, but was really starting to look worn out. I take my interior out of the boat every year and store it in the house. This year I wiped it all down with a straight shot of Simple Green and a regular wash cloth. The seats look like the day I brought it home. What a difference. Just thought I'd share this with you guys.
    PS: it smells good

I have used simple green straight on the upholstery for years. Only problem is that it leaves a film you have to rinse. There is another degreaser called Flite that I have bought and I like it a hell of a lot better. The guys at Eliminator turned me on to it, they said they used it on their boats...

For really tough stains the guys at Howard use a vinyl cleaner by Malco. They use it in the shop. I tried it on those nasty yellow bug splats and it works good.

Scrubbing Bubbles and a brush works good as well.

No fear of drying out the vinyl surface with the above mentioned methods?
I just had my interior done last summer...the fella that did it said to just use Pledge on the surface to keep it lubracated...and as a cleaner....The 309 cleaner/protector treatments seem to be going a good job so far...and they have a UV protector in them.

I use 309 after I clean and it seems to add some moisture back to the vinyl.

I was concerned with pulling color out of the vinyl myself, but the only thing that changed was the interior got cleaner...much cleaner. The yellow didn't even smudge. I didn't find the same results as the Doc, I didn't have any film at all on the vinyl.

    309? Or...303?

It might be 303...It comes in a white bottle with I think a purple label. I bought it at the boat show.
After scrubbing the interior with the scrubbing bubbles it really absorbed this stuff well, and left a shine on the vinyl. Good stuff.
