Thread: Looking for Carb spacers

    Hey all,
I want to add a spacer to my performer intake to mate to my Holly 750cfm carb. I remember reading a few months back about how TPC spacers were good. I did a search and couldn't find that thread or the spacers on their site. Does anyone have a link or maybe some suggestions for other spacers to run?
    Thanks,
    Mike

pretty much any open center 1 inch is going to help ya. you could also try a 2 inch. a single plane manifold would help more though. brad

Not sure I know what your after, but you might look into the "super sucker" here...http://www.highvelocityheads.com/ss.htm
I myself would just go with an open spacer as Brad sugested, if you are concerned with heat transfer, one made from Phenolic would be nice.

    Mike,
I've got a couple of spacers sitting in my garage. I had pretty much the same set-up as you in a 21' Tahiti with a Panther. I tried the 1" spacer on the Performer and then a 2". I really couldn't tell a difference in performance but with both of them, you could see the condensation from the colder A/F mixture going through them.
If you're close to Sonoma, I'd be more than happy to let you use 1 before you buy.
Right now I'm running a Performer Air Gap with a 1" spacer and it's made a noticable difference in performance.

    Thanks for the info all.
Cas I am in Chico and rarely make it to that side of the bay. I might hit you up after X-mas when I have some cash though. How much do you want for the 1" or both?

79TahitiCBB, I have a few extra spacers , various sizes. Let me know what size you decide to go with and if I have one, it's yours.

    Mike,
You can have 1 1" for the cost of shipping, I've got a couple of them. I only have the one 2" that I may try next year so that's why I figured I'd let you use it. Sounds like BBT may have one of those for you though.
Since you're in Chico, maybe you'd enjoy joining us next year when we head up to Oroville? Actually, maybe you can join us at some of the other outings we have also, Shasta, Folsom, Berryessa, the Delta, New Hogan....lots of them and lots of fun.
Check out the website under my name if you get a chance to see lots of pictures from our past events.

I made a 2" for another forum member. I made a a few to help on the part cost, perhaps you may be interested in it, or any other sizes you may want. Brian

Actually I am definatly interested in comming out with you guys. I was nailing the afterbay in Oroville a coulple times a week until the weather went cold. My dad and I have been thinking about maybe comming up for the Tower Park thing this spring. I just need to get the boat buttoned up, i bought it this summer and it hadn't been run in 10 years so I am just getting bugs worked out at this point.

Well, if you need any help and/or advice on the Panther, feel free to give me a call. I've rebuilt a few in the past couple of years and have a little knowledge on them. I'm by no means an expert but I can get by.
I saw in your first post that you're probably going to switch it out for a Berk. Depending on what you're going to use the boat for, I'd keep the Panther. I have 2 boats right now with Panthers in them, both Tahiti's and really like the way they work.
