this may be a dumb question, but here goes...
has anyone eve switched from a jet drive to an i/o?
i always seem to be in tight places where the jet just does not have enough control. any input on this would be appreciated.

Depending on what jet you have and how it is mounted there would be a LOT of fiberglass work to do. Transome takes a lot of pressure from an I/O. Might be better to swap boats. Anything can be done with enough money and time. eek!

The only problem with going from a Jet Drive to a Outdrive other than the extensive "glass work," is the fact that outdrive boats tend to have somewhere around a 2" or thicker transom to support the weight of the drive and the gimbal housing. However most jet boats have a 1" thick transoms. It can be done, it just takes alot of work.

Are you going to go to cedar creek this weekend for the poker run? I plan on being down there on Saturday morning.

...any input on this would be appreciated.I'd grab a tape measure first. You need to have a transom height that can accomodate an outdrive transom shield (and proper x-dimension)- you may be up in the rubrail.
Most smaller jets have a very shallow V...
