Here are some excerpts from today's Tampa Tribune newspaper:
The boat Parker operated, a 36-foot catamaran tunnel-hull racing boat, flipped, ejecting Parker and two female passengers, witnesses told police. It happened at 2 p.m., about a mile south of the Gandy Bridge, police said.
Witnesses said Parker's boat and a similar-style boat were going fast on the Bay, at times more than 100 mph, Tampa Fire Rescue Capt. Bill Wade said.
Witnesses told authorities that Parker's boat ``caught some air,'' came up out of the water, came down and went up again and flipped, said Gary Morse, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the agency in charge of investigating the accident.
The restaurant chain that the missing guy co-founded is called Bonefish Grill -- it is super popular around here (Tampa area.)

At least the two girls survived. It could've taken their lives too.
I'm gonna stick with a Vee and stay under 100MPH.
Cats are safe, but this is why insurance rates are so high on them.
This was a very tragic accident. My support goes out to Chris's family and friends, and a speedy recovery to the passengers. This is a great example of why floation devices are so important in our sport. There could have been a chance if Chris could have been recovered.
