anywhere you can get to it
make sure you can get something under it to catch spills
I have a bracket mounted to the stringer, just make sure it is strong enough to handle rough water.

here is a pic of mine. Even though it is a Ford I got the GM filter holders so I could use the 2qt GM filters. that adds 4 qts to your oil capacity and as said earlier mount them where you can get a rag under them and don't mount them upside down
I personally run valvoline racing 40wt. used to run castrol syntec but now that it takes 13qts to fill er up the 40wt is cheaper.
I used hydraulic hoses for the oil lines from engine to relocater.
Oreilly makes them up with the crimped ends. be warned they aren't cheap but last forever.
    Good luck!!!

Here's where I put mine. A coffee can will slip in under it to catch filter and oil. Works good.http://files.triton.net/old1/engfrnt1.jpg

Just curious why it shouldn't be mounted upside down. Mines always been upside down. I haven't had a problem with drain back. Its up high enough that when you want to change it you can either unbolt it quick and dump it in a pan or pop a hole in the top. THEN it will drain back and there is very little mess. Anyone have problems running one upside down.
Should I relocate my relocated filter?
