I need a longer blower belt again. The first time I needed a new one because of intercooler, now with the intake being raised my center to center distance is raised 1.42. Bds doesnt even stock a belt that long, so I might contact gates directly. Any other suggestions?

Is that a blue thunder intake?? if so looks like a stock small cap dist is in your future, as the msd wont fit, too tall. I talked to Don Hampton and he designed that intake to use a stock dist, luckly you can run electronic ignition in them just have to use the small cap. Oh and if you dont like that vac advance canister and choose to lock out the advance dealio for it make damn sure you put it in the exact location from the vac canister.

Call gates, measure you center to center and the dia of the pulleys allow for some slack adjustment, how you going to seal the ends of the intakes?? I think engine systems makes a blower manifold for those heads.http://www.enginesystems.com/

    More head swap problems.....
3.I needed to cut valve reliefs in pistons because of the new heads valve angle.
    4. Removing old orings out of block, but orings were installed so bloody tight that instead of removing them we needed to machine stainless steel orings FLAT with deck. Tare short block down again
    5. Need to order up custom head studs cause the ones listed were wrong from ARP.
6.No 460 guide plates would work with the TFS heads, so I had to order them from summit. Wouldnt you think when you buy the heads bare that maybe someone at the order desk would tell you when you order the heads up to Canada that that the guideplates needed were special? You would think something would interchange, nope.
    7. No common (high heat super alloy) valve from Ferrea available that would work with TFS's so we got some custom valves made up. Ouch, I still cant sit down.
    8. New ex bolt up pattern prevents me from getting ANY header to work in car so thats just a $8000 bill to front half and go with a strut suspension.
Thats not too bad, 13,000 or so later and this simple head swap is behind me.

Ya its a blue thunder hogged out to SCJ. Actually the distributor worked fine last yr when the intake was sitting on the block, but now with having it raised... it caused all kind of problems.
I guess the mallory dist is for sale now, if anyones interested

Why the head swap to begin with?

Honestly, we tried everything to try to seal up the head with leaking water. I have too much cash in this motor to be letting water piss into it.. (A460 block, billet crank, rods ect)
The problem with BBF's is the lack of clamping force on the cylinder head. Not enough head bolts. And I know that the oring receiver grove job was done PERFECT too but 10 runs later and a little boost and I'm running for my gumboots.
Now I’m hoping the thicker deck on the TFS's will provide a better clamping force along with getting rid of the copper and going with the cometic gaskets.
The extra 110 cfm on the ex didn’t hurt my decision either
