Ice Dams

Might not be any in the stores right now, but I wonder if a guy had one of those huge super soakers and filled it with salt water if that would help at all? I heard of someone putting moss killer on their roof with one before.

Hire a helicopter to fly over and drop a bunch of rock salt on the roof.

My old roof ice damned up real bad one year and started to leak. Because I didn't care about the roof I used a air hammer with a 2" chisel to bust it up. It worked great but did damage the shingles-despite me trying to be careful. I've tried the rock salt, but it didn't seem to work. The best thing that I found were some heat lamps. I used 2 of them and would move them every couple of hours.
