If the headers are water injected they have a drain hole in the bottom of each tube. The hole acts as a vacuum break, so you don't have to run flappers unless you want.

Did these for a friend of mine a couple years ago. I like the angle cut. I think they look tough as hell, especially from the side. Have fun wrestling with the exhaust hose. We resized and reused his existing log exhaust holes in the transom. They didn't line up perfectly and it took some time (and quite a few choice words) to get em on.

Just a couple more. I had quite a few but they're on my old (crashed) harddrive.

It's really kind of a shame. It's a friend of ours that got caught up in the boat thing. He paid a little too much for it and it needs some work. He's not mechanical, nor does he have the cash to pay anyone else to do it.
I did the log to headers conversion, plumbed all the water in stainless, put on the scoop, spark plug wires, oil cooler, valve covers and some other odds and ends as a favor. After that he let it sit outside for a couple seasons with a crappy cover over it, and it looks like shit now. Could be a really nice boat.

    I don't know.
I considered making him an offer on it. The guy was laid off for a year and built up some serious debt. I don't think he'd sell it though.
I went with him the day he bought it. We looked it all over and took it out to the lake. Seems like the seller was asking $5600 for it. I figured that we (the buyer and myself) would pull off with "an I'll think about it" and then go back with an offer. Instead this friend breaks out his checkbook and hands the guy what he was asking for it. That was a surprise. I mean shoot at least try to save yourself a couple hundered. The paint is pretty well shot, interior needs to be redone and the trailer is a piece of crap. I figured it was worth maybe $5k at the most, and probably closer to $4700. Oh well, it's been a good running boat albeit a pretty much stock BBF it'll turn mid sixties with the proper conditions and it starts and runs everytime.
