I bought a fix-er-uper boat off e-bay.
One of my co-workers sold a Dune Buggy on e-bay.
Has anyone put their car/truck on ebay? Is it a good idea?

I would say it couldn't hurt. Just make sure to require a deposit within 2-3 days that is substantial enough that the person won't walk on you.

Works great! Give an honest discription, Make sure you put a reserve and specify buyer pays shipping...............
We had a truck that we where askin $4,000.00 for locally and no bites.
Put it on E-bay and sold it for $8,200.00
I've sold a motorcycle and a truck on Ebay, went ok. The shipping/delivery of the vehicle gets a little strange sometimes.
And they hit you I think $40 whether it sells or not. And then another $40.00 if it gets any bids. They just changed their fees so you might want to ck them out.
Put your reserve HIGH so that it'll never reach that amount, and then negotiate with the highest bidder. That way EBAY doesn't get their % of the sale.
Problem is with a high reserve many times you get few or no bidders. I personally won't bid on stuff with reserves. I think they're bogus and serve no useful purpose. Just my .02

I agree with this. You can always pull the auction before it closes if you don't like the bids you are getting.
My parents sold a 1969 Cougar convertible XR7 on ebay to a guy from Missouri. It went well and they got way more than what local buyers were offering.
Thanks for all the input.
