Exactly!!!
The boat is supposed to stay out of Ca. for 90 days after delivery to avoid ca sales tax if you are doing an out of state delivery. Just an fyi.

I am building a new carrera and already sent away for my AZ tags. They told me that legaly it has to be registered in AZ since that is where iy is going to be used. Not only are the fee's cheaper but I live in orange county and would also get hit with a 1 and a half percent unsecured property tax bill. Good luck
So are you paying sales tax in AZ or CA?????
Getting my boat registered in Oregon. No sales tax. registration is $25 for 2 years. But I've lived here a long time and I am used to the rain and 75 days of "summer". I would gladly pay a few hundred more for 6 months of "summer".

AZ is sounding better and better. Maybe I tell CA to go pound sand..
and the people are very friendly!!
Remember folks...to avoid paying the annual property tax on your AZ registered boat...the boat MUST be 1) Out of California on January 1st of each year and 2) It must be predominantly moored or stored outside CA. You can't avoid the property tax legally if you're keeping the boat in CA and using it in AZ.
The marinas and storage facilities are supposed to send the DMV the numbers of all boats stored within them. Also, each county has enforcement officers that go to the marinas and storage facilities looking for registration numbers of boats that are stored within the boundaries of the counties.

That is why ours is in the "Bat Cave"
Does the "Bat Cave" have a neat brass pole for Bat Girl to slide up and down on?
