SURGOINSVILLE, Tenn. -- Intoxicated drivers take note: Don't ask your 10-year-old daughter to drive you home.
Angela Michelle Brown, 37, was charged Monday with child endangerment and driving under the influence of alcohol after authorities said she got drunk and used her 10-year-old daughter as a designated driver.
Police arrested Brown last week after stopping a car that appeared to have a young driver.
``As I approached the car I noticed that an older female was laying down in the driver's seat,'' Officer Don Mitchell said in his report. ``The younger female told me that her mother had got drunk and she was trying to get them home.''
Mitchell's report said Brown's breath alcohol test was 0.23 percent, nearly three times higher than the legal definition of drunken driving.
The 10-year-old girl's grandmother was called to come get the girl after police arrested her mother.
The judge set a Feb. 18 trial.
