Gives whole new meaning to why jets are better than props. BTW, in the "Pass under Bridge" video, the first guy was turning SERIOUS rpms. I'm thinking about 6k? Maybe a tad more?
jer
Ahhhh .. the sweet scream of a small block !!!
The third guy must have taken a short-cut.
Check out these vids, most of them are from down under. You gotta check out the old footage of Colorado River. I didn't think people were that crazy in 1960...

im still watching the "under the bridge" video at least 5-10 times a day!! that first boat is down-right gettin it!!
where is the video taken? (under the bridge)
I don't know where that one in particular was taken, I bet somwhere down under.
The aluminum guys run a race here in Yuba City every May on the Yuba and Feather rivers.
It's really fun to sit on the riverbank where they make the turn from the Feather to the Yuba. The fastest guys, unlimiteds I think, are really flyin at that point.
They've got to be doing 110-115 comin down for the turn and once they make the turn they stand on it for a sprint to the finish. Just before the turn, they're coming right at you, so you can see those boats dancing on just the intake and very end of the tunnels. It's kind of scary to watch, cause I'm always wondering if one of them is gonna miss the turn and end up coming right at me on the riverbank.
The vid is shot from on the bridge at the Kawarau river outlet in Queenstown, New Zealand.
