As for the boost & HP, I dont know yet. I hope it makes at least 850 to 900.
Right now I am just gathering parts, so things could change.
    Thanks,

Here's a similar block to what you have on Ebay. Would give an idea of market value. Can't tell by the pics if it is priority oiling but it is the later style with the bowtie cast in it, so it probably is. Also part number slightly different. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2459872863

If you have a bowtie I would just run it. The power you want to make is safe limits with that block. 850 to 900 with 540 inches is no problem. We had a 509 CID combo with an 8-71 make 830HP and 910#/ft like clockwork. The Dart is beefier and will take more abuse but unless you are exceending the 1000HP mark I would not spend the money.

My bowtie block works for me and god knows it's seen its fair share of boost. I agree the extra head bolts in the lifter valley are good. Paul Paff will add them for $150.00. I would not worry about them if you are using iorn heads.

Dave, Schiada, you guys talking about the Gellner setup for extra head bolts? I was thinking about doing that but how exactly do they attach?? Does the block need a slot milled in it or just tapped? I haven't seen a good picture of one.

we use to mill a flat on the block and put the extra lug on.. . but now this was in the mid '80's.
