Are you referring to a flat or ski hydro as in the picture?
How close is the closest you can be on a v-drive from the prop to the bottom of the boat?. 1" 1.5" 2"?????

I did a prop with harold kindsvater and after the final cut he had me at a 1/2 in from the bottom[about your finger width] it was really scary and caused too much vibration from prop wash so he cut it another 1/8in:eek!:

So a minimum distance would be 5/8" , is there to much or does it matter for a hydro blowing the tail.
Sanger-Rich...That boat came with a strut installed and holes for where the v-drive goes didn't it??.... Jest be sure that the back side of the prop is no further than 1/2 " away from the strut barrel & you will be fine.....Run the prop you got with the motor you got for now.....Your HP dictates the prop/gear size.......
Rich.... Get ahold of Tom Bentley up in Auburn, Tell him what you got & he'll set you up the right way....
Good question. I was thinking about this exact question driving home from work today......
