Thread: losing trim

I have a 92 ultra with a alpha 1 drive. On my last 2 trips I noticed that while we were running I would trim up and the trim would go back down slowly on its own. Then while trailering home this last weekend I looked in my rearview mirror around a corner to see my outdrive about 3 inches from the ground so I pulled over and raised it back up.... but just a few miles down the road I pulled over again and the drive had falling a couple of inches. Does anyone have any Ideas or had this problem and how to fix it.

To me it sounds like a bad trim pump & the check balls no longer seal properly.

I agree...look for fluid leak- if no leak, the pump may not be holding the pressure.
PS- I also hate when I lose trim...

This is normal when the check balls leak back to the system.

Sorry, I couldn't pass this one up.
