Can't clearly see the sticker, but what motor; the 5.3?
These have hit the lots this week in L.A. This grey one just came off the truck. Beautiful truck for towing the boat, very practical, easier to park (same length as an extended cab) and better gas mileage than the 2500's , lots of room in the back seat too. I ordered the GMC Sierra version (not a fan of the Avalanche front) with 4.10 gears, can't wait till mine comes in. Mark

Yep, Vortec 5300.
Damn, $40k for a gasser. Too much coin for me.

looks nice, but they did make a hd1500 crew before, whats different about this? not bagging on it, just dont see that much thats different. AND 40K seems expensive....cars cost to much $$$$$$ now
Oh com'on TOBTEK it's been like 6 months since you have sold and bought a new truck, I think it's time, don't you have the itch?

The new 1500 crew cabs are 1/2 tonners with an abbreviated bed like the Ford Super Crews. The 1500 HDs are 3/4 ton trucks with a 6-1/2 foot bed. Chevy dropped the 1500 HDs and are now just 2500's, they're only available as a crew cab. Now they just need to put some power to that 6 litre engine - the power doesn't justify the bad gas mileage. I've got one of 2500s with the Quadrasteer - it's the hot ticket. You've just gotta put some decent size wheels and tires so it doesn't so old fogeyish.
New wheels, tires and jack up the torsion bars so it's not stink bugged. First thing I did on both of my HD's.

I just got back from the Chevy dealer- test drove the 2wd version fully loaded on some 20 inch rims (shouldn't be a surprise ) That thing is awesome, the sticker was 36K. Plenty of room, awesome leather interior, air for the rear passengers (key for AZ and Havasu summers), tow package, its definately nice. I told the guy I'd buy if for 20K total, and post him name and number of this site to get him more sells, he said he'd get back to me--I think that means no! Either way, its now on my short list for trucks.
Here's my list-
2004 Chevy 1/2 crew cab
2003 Chevy SS Silverado extended cab
2002-2004 GMC Yukon Denali (or Denali XL)
and anything thats free...
Roln 20s
Make sure it has a Limited Slip Differiential listed on the window sticker or FORGET IT. Even a 4X4 without one is worthless. You wouldn't believe how many are out there.
