hey vic, i figured these would give you a better idea of what your boat would look like with both!

Todd, that helps me! Now I know what the twisties will look like on my Roger's. I was kinda wondering, since the engine sits a little deeper in the Roger's compared to my old Caribbean. Cool!

Vic- on a Rogers the twisties sit real close to the top of the transom. You wont want to run them dry because the extreme heat that is present which really heats up the paint or gel.
The straight pipes sit about an inch higher off the transom and are wider so that its easier to remove a tall set of valve covers.
I like the looks of both, but i agree with the other guys, the short straight pipes do look more racy.
And HB is correct, the engine does seem to produce more torque with the long collector pipes. Its a negligable amounth though.

wow. thanks EVERYONE for the great advice and pics. after all said and done, i do like the look of both and on that alone would be a hard decision. but since i allready have a brand new set of regular shorty's and still need to invest in other parts ill be running what i have (with baffles). the fact that the twisties sit a bit lower also helps make the decision final. and with all this scare of noise law enforcment, i dont want to invest more money on something i may have to change anyhow. do the thru transum headers put out a lower decible level? the boat has allready been cut for thru transum, and by the looks of it it the holes may actually be below the water line a bit. i would think if they test at high idle and not moving, that the water would muffle the noise some. anyone have any thoughts on that?
thanks again folks. great info and no argueing. yippppeee!
