here we go...I was given a 72 Cheetah that I had put up for sale last week here on the boards...but after much debate I've decided to keep it and make it my river boat for the next few years.
I'm now going to sell my other boat.... it's a 74 Jencraft (which is a splash of a Southwind) with a 455 Olds and a Berkeley JC. The boat runs great and is really reliable, only thing is it needs a new paint job. I've sanded on the thing for a while but have only gotten half way through the job. It has back-to-back buckets that are in ok shape and get the job done, but their not my favorite.
All this boat really needs is a little cosmetic work. The motor and pump work great. It's not a rocket ship but it has great power and is dependable. It has Bassett headers too. It could use some new carpet as well. The trailer is in good shape although it does need rewiring. The titles are clean and in my possession....so if anyone is interested please email me at river_brian@sbcglobal.net.
I'm asking $1500 for the boat/trailer. I'll be posting this on Ebay at some point but I'll give first crack at it to all the ***boaters . I'm in L.A. also

Swap motors.
Pull the 460 out of the cheetah. Then put the 455 into the cheetah and sell it on ebay as a running boat.
Keep the Southwind splash boat and put the 460 into it.
By the way, is it a JemCraft or a JenCraft?

Brian the boat you think is a splash is the REAL deal.During the year your boat was made southwind was in a confertation on the name "southwind" with fleetwood because they were calling their motorhomes southwind as well,to make a long story short they started their name back and the original name of the company was southwind boats by jencraft after buyin the copany blind ,he changed it to JEMCRAFT when he incorperated so you my freind have a southwind.Any questions email me and i will be more than happy to help. tim@southwindjetboats.com and if you want to sell it let me know ill sell it for ya.

it's an 18ft. boat.
No offense but the Southwind is a better hull than the Cheetah. I would do what Lakes only said and sell the Cheetah with the 455 and put the other motor in the Jencraft.
