Who has some? I just found out that my little old camel humops have themselves a two inch crack. Crack, it turns out, does kill:yuk: Soooooo.......I need some good heads for a 350. No vortec or post-86 stuff, just the good old boys. So clean up those shops and dig around for some heads! I would like/prefer heads that would yield a 10:1 como. ratio with my flat tops.
    Thanks guys,
    Skeep"I need some heads"werkzaz

I've got a set of 993s with 76cc chambers. Good condition and still coated in grime.

The Specs are 1.94"/1.6" valves, with 58cc chambers. These heads will create alot of torque on the bottem end of the rpm range. Comp Springs are rated for .525 lift. Also have a new 292/302duration .500/.510 lift camshaft with new lifters to go with it for an additional $75.00.

Ty- What are 993's? Are they "Hecho en Mexico?" Does the grime cost extra?
Midnightmantra-I think that those have a little too much compression for my taste, are you sure they are that high? I cant find 14022601's anywhere online, where did they come from?
    Thanks guys,
    Clay

    Why no Vortec's???
To much compression, what's the deal??

I have to agree in choice of the Vortec design. You would have better spent the time just getting a vortec (ready to bolt on) then searching for an old Chebby casting. Matter of fact if you don't want to deal with the application specific items like the 8-bolt intake and center bolt valve covers then consider getting a World Products Torquer set-up.
THe WP Torquer cylinder heads are very comparable in performance and I believe they are a hotter version of the Vortec. Dollar for dollar you're better of getting some new heads.
    WP Heads: ~$600.00
    Vortecs: ~$550.00
    Junk yard find: ~$50.00
Machine work on junk yard find: ~$2-300.00
Valves, seals, and components for Junk yard heads: ~$150-200.00
It sort of balances out. But the bottomline is time. Now you can point and click to purchase, wait on the curb for the little brown truck, and now you're able to drink more beer bragging about how easy a head swap was
